Saying goodbye to our pets is hard. It doesn't matter if it's sooner than expected or if we knew it was coming, it's something that we feel more than something that can be expressed in words. When Piper's family found out they didn't have much time left with her, we took her out for a short session to play and get some pictures for a keepsake book. They told me she was not a hunter in any sense of the word, but Piper decided to strike a pose a few times anyway just to get a smile. (Good girl, Piper lol) She was feeling pretty good that day after just having a procedure for fluids so we didn't try to stop her when she wanted to run. Instead, we had her human run with her. And, of course when she slowed down a bit she had some "me and my human" together time. Sometimes we have to say goodbye sooner than we expected. It's not the timeline we wanted, but we're grateful for every goofy, loyal, love-filled moment we got to have with them. Life feels a little quieter now, but a whole lot fuller because of them. Quoted...I can't really get them to say "cheese," but I can almost always make them smile. -Kelly Categories
